Day One Hundred and Twenty Five...

Second last day of work. Farewell lunch today. I think a few people were surprised at my request that instead of collecting money for a gift, they give any money collected to charity.

Lesson number three: Give what you can, when you can and shut up about it.

I like to give to charity. I also tend to keep it quiet when I do give. I don't really give to any religious organisations because most of them have more than enough money already and they spend a tiny amount of what they get on charity. I also refuse to donate to any comp[any that uses 'chuggers'. A Chugger is a charity mugger, one of those people with a clipboard who stand there and pester people for their bank details. They sicken me and should be banned. The charity they represent gets nothing for the first 12 months as the money is paid to the chuggers and they company they work for.

Once I discover a charity is using chuggers I cease to donate to them and they can get fucked. I have no respect for these people and the charities that use them can raise money without them but think they can make more with them. Why don't they see ti is a put off and makes people not what to give them money ever again?

I strongly belive if you have $5 in your wallet give it to the charity guy with the bucket. You don't need a coffee or a Coke, drink water. If one thousand people give the guy $5, then the charity will have $5000 and that sort of money can make a difference. When you give, shout up about it. We don't all need to frickin know how good you think you are. It just shows that you are a bogan who needs other people approval to make you fell good about yourself.
